Introduction

The Department of ECE, accredited by National Board of Accreditation has seen a considerable growth since its inception in the year 1998. The well qualified faculty and courses of this department aid to prepare students for careers as professional engineers through an education in fundamental principles as well as in the context of real application and design environment. Project work throughout the course adheres to the necessity of a combination of practical and theoretical skills and abilities. Electronics & Communication Engg. department started with an intake of 40 students which has increased to 120 owing to well qualified Faculty, Excellent Laboratories, Seminar Hall and Library facilities. The department introduced an M.Tech programme in ECE in the year 2009 with an intake of 18 student. Electronics Deptt. the department laid mile stone by introducing another M.Tech Course (Evening Shift) in 2010 & B.Tech course (Evening Shift) in 2011 in Electronics & Communication Engg. with a further intake of 18 students and 60 students respectively. The Department is successfully functioning under the guidance of Dr. G.C. Lall Prof. & Chairman and aegis of Assoc. Prof. Rajiv Chechi, Head of Department.

  • A Guest Lecture was organized on 2012 by the Electronics & Communication Engineering Department on 'Laser application' & Mokshagundan Visvesvaraya' by Prof.R.M.P.Jaiswal,Emeritus Scientist of DST.
  • A seminar was conducted on "Telcom Market Overview"by Aditya Chaudhary & Sumit.The programme was conducted to enrich students with Latest Telcom technology used in Telcom Industry,Career consultancy,Personality Development

  • The Professor & Chairman,Dr.Lall of ECE Department presented his research paper at 7th IEEE international conference(3,4,5 Dec-2012) in Seoul,South Korea
  • The assoc.Prof.& HEAD Er. Rajiv Chechi of ECE Department presented his research paper titled Quality of Service Approach in UMTS-WLAN Handover at IEEE international conference on Green Computing and Communications,Conference on Internet of Things,and Conference on Cyber Physical and Social Computing in Besancon,France.
  • The Assoc.Prof.Davinder Parkash presented in research paper titlewd,"Design of Planar Monopole Antenna Fed by Asymmetric Coplanar strip WLAN Applications",in IEEE Applied Electromagnetics conference and Indian Antenna Week in Kolkata.

Departmental Library:-

The department is having separate libraries for the benefit of faculty as well as students. The library consists of 200 Text Books, 100 Reference Books, 200 Expert’s Video Lecture CD’s and 10 National/International Journals in addition to different online research Journals of IEEE & AMSE.

• Er, Davinder Prakash, Asstt. Prof. has been awarded with “The Young Scientist Award” by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab Mr. Shivraj Patil at Panjab University, Chandigarh, organised by 13th Punjab Science Congress, during 7-9th Feb., 2010.
